Copy editing

Copy editing is the penultimate step in the editing process.

When copy editing, we correct or query factual errors, style inconsistencies, grammatical and spelling mistakes, and formatting problems. At the copy-editing stage, we also make or suggest minor improvements to the writing.

Copy editing is performed in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the last step in the editing process before a document is printed.

At the proofreading stage, we look for typos (grammatical and spelling), design and layout errors, and style inconsistencies. We’ll also flag flaws in logic and other major gaffes.

We proofread using your choice of Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or hard copy (paper).
